Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices changed direction in the eastern spruce lumber market last week, going lower. Building supply at the eastern mills outpaced demand seen in the marketplace. Production was prominent on the higher grades making them more vulnerable to counters. Client demand remained specified, filling in as needed with little speculation noted. Distributors and wholesalers were aggressive in their quotes. One with inventory supporting them, the other anticipating that the mills will need to come to the market and sell.
