Over supply continued to dominate activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Lower prices were quoted on many items with the higher grades seeing the greater differences. Retailers kept inventories close to the vest often needing product sooner than later or waiting to the last minute to buy. Traders struggled to stay current with the price changes, leaning on relationships to get orders. There were variances seen on what the mills had available to sell and the prices being offered on them with little consistency among them.
