Demand and activity perked up in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, improving on Tuesday’s results. Eastern mills that traded in the market were busy. Others not in tune sold little. Resistance to change among them was evident. There was little continuity on price. There was commonality with what was for sale. The difficulty was determining where prices were on any given product. There were wide differences seen from various sources. Information was mixed and hard to substantiate.
