Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a modest start to the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was good on a wide range of items keeping many traders busy throughout the day. The Canadian mills were competitive on selected items here in the states but kept their focus largely to selling on the Canadian market. The higher duties they are paying is limiting options for buyers in the states on several items. Prices continued to be suspect but there are fewer mills that clients can rely on, making prices less vulnerable.
