Demand and activity remained steady in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was little to influence a change in the direction of the market. Supply was healthier than demand. Clients filled in various needs, buying little extra. Distributors stayed very busy. Prices were less but there were no dramatic changes. The higher duties the Canadian mills are paying kept many of them at bay at what they would sell and the prices they would take. They had various products to offer, each one with their own emphasis.
