Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern spruce lumber market ended last week with stronger demand and activity. Despite lower published spruce prices in the east, buyers were disappointed to find very little product from the mills at these lower numbers. The Canadian mills especially, were quoting much higher prices and were not taking orders at the lower numbers. Distributors stayed in step with the market, but they were also becoming more defensive on certain products. There seemed changes afoot in the market. This post will be on hiatus, returning Monday October 6th.
