Strong demand led to a busy day for traders in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Higher mill asking prices spurred clients to action. Distributors lagged mill prices on many items making them the source for clients to cover needs early in the week than waiting to see what develops with the market. Many mills faced with a 10% tariff going into effect October 14th did not waste time in moving their prices higher after quickly selling to start the week, adding to the furor seen in the market.
