Demand and activity continued to improve in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. It was another busy day for traders trying to stay in step with client needs. The mills were able to bump up prices on the surge of business they received. The uptick was not dramatic but more importantly it was all in a positive direction. It helped them establish an order file which they have not had for some time. Distributors were also buyers, plugging voids that have cropped up and paying higher to do so.
