It was busier yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market than what it may have seemed. It was not a stellar day of transactions, but traders were continually responding to demands, requirements, and shipments. The Canadians were celebrating their Thanksgiving but many of the mills were staffed. Those at their desks saw business, more than expected. A 10% tariff starts today on all imported lumber. It was unclear if it would pertain to panels as well. The realization will be known when those shipments cross into the U.S.
