Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices were on the move in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Steady demand, lower mill supply, and the addition of the 10% tariff have combined to pressure prices higher. There also has been little consistency among the mills with what they have had to sell putting greater emphasis on distributors to cover various needs. Distributors have developed voids in doing so. They have had to pay more or go without to replace those items while raising their numbers in conjunction with their new purchases.
