Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Although demand lightened and activity slowed in the eastern spruce lumber market last Friday, the market showed promise and turned positive throughout the week. The mills had steady business and were able to develop an order file, something they have not had for several weeks. Distributors were kept very busy filling in with quick shipments, but many also went to the mills to plug voids that had developed, paying higher prices to get. Trader confidence also improved as many had increased sales.
