Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Good activity and healthy sales on Friday topped off a busy week in the lumber market. Demand was steady all week as prices rose steadily but not to rapidly. Many key items such as stud and msr products continued to be difficult to source from the mills but random dimension items were more readily available. Some mills had availability for only late October which drew interest. Logistical issues improved slightly for the mills allowing them to take on more orders then they have been able to do lately. Their shipping schedules still stretch a solid two weeks and in some cases longer.

Seems like a healthy trend in a more steady and predictable market dynamic. Gives distributors and manufacturers confidence. Thank you for the insights!

Interesting to see the strong role that logistics and shipping are playing in the market right now.
