Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand was widespread on several different products to start the new week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The mill’s participation in the market was noticeable as they were open to offers even after adjusting prices lower to begin the week. Production was constant with ample supply for traders to work with. Distributors stayed in step with the activity, focusing on their inventories and often leading with price to garner orders. The market outlook was mixed. The Canadian mills are strapped with duties and tariffs to pay, and retailers are not overly confident that demand will get better.
