Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There were subtle changes seen in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was a shift in selling philosophies among some mills and distributors. They were not as aggressive to selling as they have been. They had fewer items they were vulnerable on. There were also examples of firms being given and rejected. There were not as many mills quoting prices at published numbers and more quoting higher. Distributors turned defensive on the items that they were getting low on. Suppliers it seemed were simply tired of continuing to lose money and were willing to ease their efforts on getting orders at current prices.
