Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Lighter demand, activity, and sales made for a quieter finish to last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Lower published prices on Friday dulled enthusiasm. Clients looked for heavily discounted items but found very little to none in the market. Small counters were given on some items but were restrictive in scope. Supply was healthy but certain items and lengths were not as available as they have been. Distributors turned more protective of them. The Canadian mills saddled with paying duties and tariffs, restricted what they would bring to the market to sell.
