The thanksgiving rush was in full swing to start the work shortened week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Heavy demand led to strong sales and activity for many concerns as they prepared for the long holiday weekend starting Thursday. Prices were vulnerable to a degree but nothing extravagant was seen. Certain items were affected more than others depending on supply. Shipments were also important in many instances. Low prices are affecting selling philosophies as suppliers are taking more of a wait and see attitude, hoping for a market change with price appreciation.
