Welcome to December after a long holiday weekend for many. The eastern spruce lumber market starts the new month with the value of 2x6 random higher than that of 2x4 for the first time in several months. Overall prices are weak with 2x4 softer and in more supply than the other widths. Current prices are at their lowest they have been in the last few years. I have announced that I am retiring at the end of this year after 45 years in the lumber industry. I will be stepping away from daily trading activities. These reports will continue until then.
