Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern spruce lumber market was again active yesterday. Demand was steady but orders transacted were not as prolific as they could have been. Counters given by eager clients fell mostly on deaf ears or with less compromise than expected. The mills and distributors were more resistant to lower offers than they have been. Continued losses on orders shipping out of the mills or the reloads has curbed the appetite of just getting the business. Prices have been largely unchanged this week. Some eastern mills have announced a lengthier shutdown for the upcoming holiday period.
