Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The countdown to the holiday break started in earnest in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Traders favored the mills, using their lower priced offerings to garner business and ship ahead of holiday shutdowns. Selections were limited but they were significantly cheaper than their reload counterparts. The mills had ample supply of 2x4 but much less of the other widths. Prices were unchanged but did vary considerably among them. Buyers were challenged as to what fit and worked best geographically. Distributors worked their advantages to garner higher priced orders.
