Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The mills were busy in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Wholesale speculation and short covering were the crux of the lively activity seen. Many mills stopped selling or limited what they would take for orders as the day progressed. Prices edged higher as mill options diminished. Traders became increasingly frustrated battling the cheaper numbers heard in the market throughout the day. Distributors held their ground and pricing strategies with the many varied options they could provide, succeeding on some orders while passing on others.
