Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was quiet to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was lite along with mill offerings for traders to sell. The eastern mills were not producing, being on hiatus through the holiday season. There were a few items that mill reps could offer and sell to ship before the year ends that generated orders. There were some mills also actively quoting and selling for shipment in early January, but most mills were away from the market. Low supply kept asking prices higher and giving distributors an edge on much of the business transacted.
