There was little change in the eastern spruce lumber market last week. Demand was lite for a work shortened holiday week. Sawmill production was down and will remain closed this week. Most come back online next week but there are several that will be shut down an additional week or two due to the depressed prices and the lackluster demand in the market. Overall prices have risen lately but are still well below breakeven levels for the mills.
