Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

THE END OF A CHAPTER,

As this year ends, so does my time of trading in the lumber industry as I am retiring as of this Friday. The past forty-five years in this industry has shaped my career and my life. Working in the lumber industry has never just been about buying and selling wood. It’s been about relationships, trust, problem-solving, and an understanding of a product that quite literally builds homes, businesses, and communities. I’ve had the privilege of working with outstanding people, colleagues, clients, and mills. I am truly grateful for the conversations, challenges, and successes I have had along the way. I have witnessed many changes, but what has remained constant is the importance of integrity and reliability. I’m proud to have been part of that tradition and thankful to have been able to serve the many who placed their trust in me throughout my career. As I step into the next chapter of my life, I do so with appreciation and respect for the lumber business and the people in it. Thank you for the partnerships, the lessons, and the memories. I wish you all continued success in the years ahead.
