Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The trading environment in the lumber market remained very good as evident with the steady demand and activity seen yesterday. Eastern mills had an agenda of what they wanted to sell. They targeted accumulations and other items they had ready, avoiding taking orders on the items they did not. They raised prices on low grade items, which have been selling well and lowered numbers on board items which have not. There was more commonality of price with the mills on the higher grade stud and random length products that were available, allowing buyers time to react.
