Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Better activity led to increased sales in the lumber market yesterday. Demand strengthened, sparking buyers to step in and cover needs. The mills did their part by entertaining offers on the items they wanted to move, but stayed away from any of the larger counters presented on them. Mill deliveries have improved, with some availability next week, but generally their shipments continue to be 2 weeks. Some items remain tight in supply such as MSR products and many of the lower grade items. The spread between the higher grades and lower grades has narrowed tremendously, especially on 2x4.

Lead times appear to be decreasing. Have you heard of any prompt wood?
