Bill's Corner- An eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices moved higher in the lumber market yesterday. Momentum from the day prior inspired traders and fueled hectic activity early in the day, putting the eastern mills on the defensive. Some mills backed away from the market to re assess their selling strategies while others kept selling, raising prices along the way. The strong demand caused some mills to join others, who had already adjusted prices to account for the increase in tariffs expected next week. The end result produced much disparity among the mills and dulling activity to end the day.
