Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Wednesday was a fairly active day in the lumber market, even though there was a fair amount of absenteeism prevalent. Many of the orders transacted were reload generated as product availability from the mills was paltry. It was difficult to determine where market prices were on many items as comparisons were hard to find. Higher prices were commonplace on the items found, with some increases more dramatic than others. Eastern mills have been hit hard with orders recently and the outlook for increased availability by year end seems limited at best.
