Retailers came back from the Thanksgiving Holiday poised to do some business, based on the orders transacted last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. The plethora of orders pressured prices to soar, with some items up by triple digits. The eastern mills had limited supply available, that could deliver prior to the holiday season. This coupled with ongoing shortages of truckers to deliver their products to market, made distributor’s inventories the keys to many of the traders’ successes.
