There was more lumber available from the mills in the eastern spruce market yesterday, albeit at elevated prices. The items were selective in scope and varied from mill to mill. Buyers bought most, knowing they had a need or were confident that someone else did. It was also difficult to gauge where the market was on specific products as there was little commonality among the mills to compare them to. Shipments ranged from some later this month to most of them in January. Traders and clients wondered how long the market and prices can sustain themselves.
