Strong Demand inspired increased activity and pushed prices higher in the lumber market yesterday. Volatility reigned as many items are up triple digits over last week. The same issues continued to propel the current market such as inadequate supply and logistical problems. Add to these a growing base of well-informed contractors and homeowners, seeing prices moving higher and wanting to get their projects covered now versus later and you have another factor driving the market and pressuring prices.

It’s interesting to see the rise of main stream media covering lumber again. I wonder, will this cause DIYers to run back into the market to get what they need for upcoming projects?
