Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was no letup in demand and activity in the lumber market yesterday. Retailers and manufacturers continue to be very busy, making their need to replenish inventories ongoing. Heavy reliance on distribution to fulfill those needs kept pressure on distributors to buy product in a rising market. To make matters more problematic was having to wait several weeks to get ordered material in. The eastern mills do not have the products needed, especially for delivery within a three-to-four-week window. Logistical issues and delays are still daunting!

@william_giguere What are you hearing about inventory levels? Given shipment times are many people at or near those short squeeze levels of inventory (~30 days or less)?

the quicker outflow of material is keeping inventories lower than expected, especially for this time of year
