The volume of orders eased somewhat in the lumber market yesterday. Demand was still prevalent as retailers and manufactures remained quite busy, even with Christmas and the long holiday weekend fast approaching. The general lack of supply from the mills had buyers on edge and reacting when they saw something of interest, even if the shipment was out three to four weeks. Quick delivering product commanded much attention and sold at higher prices, especially if it filled an urgent need.
