Brazilian wood product exports fall 2% to $257 million in October

The value of Brazil’s wood-based product exports, excluding pulp and paper, declined 2% year-on-year in October 2025 to $257.3 million, according to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO). The overall decrease came despite strong growth in several key product categories.

Tropical sawnwood exports posted a significant rise, with value climbing 52% to $13.2 million and volume increasing 32% to 28,700 m3. Pine sawnwood exports also grew, with value up 13% to $56.8 million and volume rising 27% to 261,300 m3. In contrast, pine plywood exports experienced a sharp decline, falling 25% in value to $42.9 million and 16% in volume to 142,600 m3.

The value of wooden furniture exports remained flat at $48.2 million. Tropical plywood exports saw a 14% increase in volume to 2,400 m3, while its export value held steady at $1.2 million.
