Very interesting. This goes completely counter to what we hear in the mainstream. Wildfires must be disproportionally reported on similar to police chases, etc.

We would have to investigate this source. We know this is NOT true for the US north west and south west and the Sierra area. So there could be one of two explanations: (1) we hear about regional effects and increase in frequency and magnitude of fires, whereas the above graph measures the fires on a global scale; (2) the source may have alternative views to other comparable organizations, depending on what metrics are being used, how it’s measured, etc. Not sure which one is true. Requires more investigation.
