In February 2023, the imports of softwood lumber to Japan contracted 45% year-on-year to 243.7 thousand m3. According to Lesprom Analytics, the average price for softwood lumber imported to Japan contracted 13% compared to the previous month and amounted to $412 per m3. This is 37% less than a year ago when it was $649.
