Introduction to Wood Species and Grading

This presentation will provide an introductory review of wood species and
grades, and the impact of these factors on structural properties and
durability. Grading rules, design properties and identification stamps will
be discussed. Wood species common in different regions of the country
will be highlighted, as will the varying degrees of natural decay resistance
associated with certain species.
