CURWENSVILLE, Pa. — Lezzer Lumber, a family-owned building materials supplier, has acquired three new lumberyards from H.P. Starr & Brookside Lumber. The acquisition of these acquisitions expands the company’s footprint in the western Pennsylvania area.

Lezzer Lumber began in 1927 and has grown over the last nine decades. The company is currently comprised of 10 retail stores, three commercial door facilities, and a truss manufacturing plant, all located in Pennsylvania. This acquisition follows Lezzer Lumber’s 2024 purchase of Trinity Supply & Installation in Pittsburgh, continuing the company’s strategic growth in the western Pennsylvania market and bringing its total number of lumberyards to 15 statewide. With these new locations, Lezzer Lumber is expanding material availability and strengthening service support for the area’s building community.

“Lezzer Lumber, H.P. Starr, and Brookside Lumber are companies built by families that care about their employees,” said Mike Lezzer, CEO of Lezzer. “We’re honored to carry on the legacy of the Bruce, Gordon, and Edwards families have created. We’re excited to provide the resources and support that will help their teams succeed now and in the future.”

The Edwards family chose to join Lezzer Lumber to ensure a strong future for their employees and customers. Their decision reflects shared values, a commitment to community, and confidence in Lezzer Lumber’s experience successfully integrating teams through previous acquisitions.

By joining Lezzer Lumber, the H.P. Starr and Brookside teams will gain access to the company’s extensive capabilities, including 12 additional lumberyard locations across Pennsylvania, a full truss manufacturing plant in Curwensville, four commercial door facilities, two millwork shops, and 13 kitchen and bath design centers. This expanded network will enable these locations to offer more comprehensive product solutions and project support.

With the acquisition, Lezzer now operates 15 lumberyards across Pennsylvania, a full truss plant in Curwensville, four commercial door facilities, two millwork shops, and 16 kitchen and bathroom design centers.
