Michigan State University’s Mass Timber department is holding the following free webinar for those who are interested.
Emily and Ryan Leestma have a bold vision for a 30-acre lakefront property they’re redeveloping in their West Michigan town, Muskegon. The project, Adelaide Pointe, will feature a marina, boat storage, restaurants, retail, apartments, and 400 condos. The Leestmas are prioritizing a variety of sustainability approaches across the project, including using mass timber for most of the buildings, including the condos.
Join us in conversation with the Leestmas and Adelaide Pointe architect, Jason Korb (the architect behind Milwaukee’s Ascent Tower, the tallest mass timber building in the world), to learn how they’re approaching mass timber for the project, how they’re addressing challenges and barriers, and why they’re so excited to bring mass timber to Muskegon - also known as Lumbertown for its long history in the industry.
Host:
Sandra Lupien, Director, MassTimber@MSU
The Mass Timber Webinars are co-produced by the Michigan Forest Biomaterials Institute and MassTimber@MSU, a program at Michigan State University.
