IT JUST KEEPS GOING AND GOING AND GOING! Much like the infamous Energizer Bunny, despite all odds, the lumber market keeps going and going and going. Since late summer, a tag-team approach of price increases has collectively pushed lumber and panel prices higher for eighteen weeks straight. Whether it be the gargantuan rise of stud prices or OSB’s recent Lazarus-like price volatility reemergence, the market is heating up just when the mercury is dipping into winter’s lows. With pricing of most items beginning the new year at their highest January levels in history, it will be interesting to see how rising inflation and interest rates play out in the months ahead.
