Shoe’s Lumber Report – 11/12/21 | Shoe's Lumber Report

RELAX – IT’S JUST A SOFT SPOT! Ambiguity is a good descriptor for the week, as multiple factors were on traders’ minds as the week unfolded. The combination of the weakness in the expiring November lumber futures contract, in conjunction with Canadian producers pushing material over the border ahead of the U.S. Department of Commerce duty increase decision later this month, was partially to blame. Add to that, the previous week’s announcement from British Columbia’s government to immediately halt timber sales on 2.6 million hectares (or 6,424,734 acres) of old-growth forest land also added to trader uncertainty. If that mouthful is not enough to catch your attention, I don’t know what is. So take a few minutes to tune in and check out all the things that transpired this past week in the place I like to call: ‘The Wonderful World of Wood.’ Enjoy…

@Jim_Schumacher How on earth do you come up with the perfect picture for every market situation. Again, you nailed it!
