Södra, Sweden’s largest forest owners’ association and an international forest industry group, announced (1-18-24) that it has implemented a timber price increase, effective January 18th. The change applies to normal logs and small sawn assortments of spruce and pine.
In a press release, Södra said its assessment going into the new year is that there will continue to be good demand for forest raw materials from family forestry. At the same time, there is still a great deal of uncertainty in the global timber market, which means that the situation may change.
The adjustments are as follows:
- The basic price for spruce timber and pine timber has increased by SEK 100 per m3 fub.
- The basic price for rough timber and blocks will be increased by SEK 80 per m3 fub.
