If a tree naturally dies (Burns, Beetle infested, decomposes after a fall, etc.) it releases all of the carbon it has taken in back to the atmosphere. Any tree forested captures the carbon and it will not be released. Additionally, the production of any building materials other than lumber are not renewable and have a much larger carbon production.
