If we harvest them, the captured CO2 is stored in the wood, which can be used to make everyday products.
The forestry industry is required by law to regenerate harvested forests, and young, properly managed forests take in CO2 at a higher rate.
If we keep up this cycle of growing, harvesting, and replanting, we can increase the amount of CO2 that is absorbed by forests.
