In 2022, the U.S. exports of wood pellets grew 19.3% year-on-year to 8.98 million tonnes. The value of exports expanded 46% to $1.5 billion. Average price of wood pellets increased 22% to $172 per tonne.
The U.S. decreased exports of wood pellets to the United Kingdom by 2%to 5.3 million tonnes while exports to Netherlands increased by 51% to 1.8 million tonnes and those to Japan skyrocketed a thousand times to 647 thousand tonnes.
