The U.S. exported 835,552.7 metric tons of wood pellets in October, up from both the 796,988 metric tons exported the previous month and the 750,997.7 metric tons exported in October 2022, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Dec. 6.
The U.S. exported wood pellets to approximately 17 countries in October. The U.K. was the top destination for U.S. wood pellet exports at 476,743.7 metric tons, followed by the Netherlands at 125,978.3 metric tons and Japan at 119,128 metric tons.

Total U.S. wood pellet exports for the first 10 months of 2023 reached 7.88 million metric tons at a value of $1.45 billion, compared to 7.38 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2022 at a value of $1.28 billion.
